Guidelines for Effective Committee Presentations and Announcements
on the Floor of Presbytery
- SUCCINCTNESS
- Presenters should attend to the business of the committee with no attempt to educate or preach to the Presbytery
- TIME LIMITS
- Allotted time for each presentation or announcement will be determined by the Moderator, Vice Moderator, Stated Clerk and General Presbyter and offered as the Liturgy of the Day with times posted. Each presentation or announcement must be planned so that there will be no need to grant time to complete reports.
- REPORTS ARE NOT TO BE READ
- Any statement that needs to be read must be distributed to the commissioners so that they will have been able to read it prior to the meeting of the Presbytery.
- ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Those wishing to make an announcement appropriate to the life of the Presbytery must stay within the allotted time of 2 minutes or be called to order by the moderator.
