The Urban Church Redevelopment Fund (UCRF) was established in 1980 by the Presbytery of the Pacific for “the development or redevelopment of a Presbyterian presence in locations within the boundaries of the Presbytery.”

The Urban Church Redevelopment Fund is available for the short-term support of urban congregations existing in older residential communities undergoing racial/ethnic/socio-economic transition, including:
  • To enable the implementation of new approaches to congregational ministry and mission for new or existing congregations.
  • To develop and support specific congregational programs that are designed to redevelop or revitalize congregations.
  • To assist in providing an adequate salary base for pastors called to a New Church Development (NCD) or an approved Redevelopment/Revitalization project.
  • To provide limited capital needs for urban ministries, both congregational and specialized.

Projects funded through the UCRF shall be those which are not ordinarily funded through the regular Presbytery Mission Budget (Congregational Life Committee).

Projects seeking funding from the Urban Church Redevelopment Fund shall:
  • Be within the bounds of the Presbytery
  • Be committed to fulfilling the AAEEO policies of the Presbytery if employing staff and building contractors
  • Be committed to an annual self-evaluation with review by the Congregational Life Committee
